Pregnancy and Postpartum Depression & Anxiety

If you are pregnant or have recently had a baby and haven’t been feeling like yourself, please know this: it is not your fault, and you are not alone. Many women experience depression or anxiety during pregnancy and the postpartum period. With the right support, you can feel better, regain your confidence, and reconnect with yourself and your baby.

Common Symptoms of Pregnancy and Postpartum Depression or Anxiety

You may have experienced some of the following:

  • Feeling down, depressed, or hopeless

  • Uncontrollable crying spells

  • Persistent worry, fear, or anxiety

  • Feeling overwhelmed or unable to cope

  • Increased irritability

  • Feeling detached from others, including your baby your older children

  • Low motivation or difficulty caring for yourself

  • Trouble relaxing

  • Difficulty sleeping — even when your baby is sleeping

  • Oversleeping or constant fatigue

  • Changes in appetite (loss of appetite or overeating)

  • Trouble thinking clearly or making decisions
